Ray Matthews handed over a specially-adapted tricycle to Newman School pupils at an assembly earlier this month.

Endurance runner Ray had completed a gruelling 150-mile run by completing the Round Rotherham course THREE times in a row in October last year.

"I was beaming from ear to ear" revealed Ray. "The work done by Newman School is something really special and they face a constant battle for funding. Everyone who collected money for the cause deserves a lot of credit. The staff and children were my inspiration to do the run. Without them, I wouldn't have got through it."

Our heartfelt thanks go to Ray, the staff of Goldstar taxis and pupils from the Westgate Mosque for their contributions and sponsorship.
