About Us
Newman School caters for young people with SEND from ages 2 to 19 in the Rotherham area. We work with lots of other fantastic local providers to make sure each of our pupils achieve their potential.
Independence House
The Newman School House located in Thurcroft is used to assist in the development of our young people focussing upon key independence skills.
Learning undertaken at the house covers meal preparation, domestic tasks the social skills necessary to live with others. Whilst at the house, use is made of the shopping facilities within Thurcroft, to further maximise the role of the facility within the Preparation for Adulthood curriculum. Wherever possible students travel to the house using public transport to help develop their travel awareness.
