It's a good school and lots of lovely people like the teachers and staffs. The first day went I started Newman school is was best day of my life because made friends and it's best place in Rotherham.
Honestly a great school, I used to go to the additional resource part next door and left with 5 GCSEs. Thank you so much to everyone. You've all been so supportive through the 2 years and a bit I was educated here. You've all given me so much confidence and courage to follow my dreams and to overcome anxieties. Even with my speech impediment everyone understood that I needed time to get the words out and everyone respected me and were all very patient.
Thank you all for everything! You'll never be forgotten.
This school is amazing. Very focused on caring for the children in there care. My grandson Elijah 5 has come on leaps n bounds with there help. Very grateful.
Fantastic people who go above and beyond not just in education but in all aspects of your child’s school life. Thanks doesn’t even cover it! ❤️

When R was in mainstream schools, he was treated as a naughty child. He was sent home early most days, sometimes after only being in school for 10 minutes. R's few friends out grew him and mainstream didn't understand his needs. This meant his education suffered and so did his confidence. Now R is in Newman he is getting an education, made friends and is understanding his autism. I am now in full time work, what I couldn't be in before due to the amount of times he was sent home.
I can't praise Newman staff enough. They have given R a real shot at life and I can't express how grateful we are as a family. I feel I can contact school any time and this communication is so important.
Newman School has helped R and us as a family in so many ways.
We welcomed our foster son into our family back in 2014. At that time he was 9. In July 2016 he transitioned reasonable well to a mainstream secondary school and in the initial few weeks there, was doing well but it soon became clear that he wasn't going to manage continuing in mainstream education and that his very particularly needs could not be met within this setting.
The journey began to find the right specialist educational environment for him to thrive within! We very much wanted him to be close to home and knew that a PRU was not going to work . It was a tough process but in January 2018 M began his journey at Newman Additional Resource (NAR).
Up until then we had been able to provide a loving and stable home and we had a very strong team working around the child, yet school had been what we can only describe as the most frightening place ever for M... that is until he started at NAR... it was the missing piece of the jigsaw.
NAR's therapeutic approach and ability to provide a bespoke programme tailored to the needs of the individual child has been simply life changing for us a family. M is so incredibly complex yet at NAR He is given the opportunity to achieve, to thrive, and to attend an educational environment without fear. He has developed and progress in every area.
The staff team are extremely dedicated and go over and above in all they do. The home / school partnership is exceptional . Not only are the team supporting the child, but the family as well.
We cannot thank everybody at NAR enough for the difference that they have made to not only us but other families impacted by this incredible educational provision .
It is one of a kind and very much needed by the children and young people who attend NAR.
Our life would look very different without it!
