Parent Governor Election

Dear Parent/Carer

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that Newman School has a vacancy on the governing body for a parent representative. 

If you are interested in standing for election for this position you are invited to submit your nomination on the form attached below, which should be returned to the Clerk to the Governing Board by 3.30 p.m. on Friday 18th June 2021.  If there are sufficient nominations to warrant an election this will be held between 28th June 2ndh and 2nd July 2021, and I will write to you with further details if this is necessary.

Please note that your nomination must be supported by another parent of a student on roll at the School.  This must not be a member of your family. If an election is necessary, each parent nominated will be requested to write a brief personal statement about himself or herself, which will be circulated to all parents to help them to decide who to vote for.  The School will organise this if and when necessary.

If any parent is interested in becoming a parent governor but is unsure what this will involve, please contact Headteacher for further information.

Please note that Newman School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children therefore all persons appointed or elected to a governing body are required to undergo a DBS check.  If you are successful in being elected as a parent governor you will be required to undertake such a check.
