Here is a fun and easy pepper experiment. Sprinkle lots of pepper over the surface of a bowl of water. Put some soap onto your finger and place this in the centre of the pepper. What does the pepper do?
Measures – During Spring term we were looking at measures. Look around the house to find as many scales as possible, ie bathroom scales, kitchen scales, measuring jug. Draw or write what you find in your home book
Locate up to five different objects from your kitchen, ie tub, bowl, cup, beaker etc and see if you can estimate how much water they hold. Use a measuring jug to check your answers.
English – Writing
Diary/Blog Can you start writing a blog/diary about your week? Changes are happening on a daily basis. If you are struggling to write, could you draw pictures to show what activities you have done during the week?
English – Reading
Read a non-fiction article of your choice. This could be a magazine, fact book, information book or a recipe book. Briefly write down what you have read, ie title of magazine or book
Fill a glass with a clear fizzy drink (sprite, lemonade or sparkling water). Add a handful of raisins. Watch for several minutes. What happens to the raisins?
Start to keep a food diary for a week. Try to include breakfast, dinner, tea, snacks and any drinks that you have had and complete it each day
Read daily 10-15 minutes Keep a record of your reading in your school book. You can read a variety of material including books, magazines or comics.
It is the season of Lent. Lent allows Christians to remember Jesus’s fasting in the desert. It is a time of giving things up and a test of self-discipline. What would you give up to make yourself a better person? Some Christians just give up something they really enjoy, such as cakes or chocolate. Others try harder in their behaviour
Play a game with an adult e.g. board games, crossword puzzles or play a game outside if you can. Keep a record of the games played and who you have played with.
Negotiate a task with your family and complete a task at least three times. For example setting the table, feeding the pet, polishing or cleaning the dishes for example. Keep a record of the tasks you have completed.
PSHE – Personal Items
Write a description or draw a picture about an item that is important to you. It could be a special gift, a teddy or a piece of jewellery you’ve been given. Why is this item important to you?
Maths – Money
In class we have been focusing on the value of everyday items. Look at a selection of food items in your kitchen and try to estimate how much they would cost to buy in a shop. For example… tin of beans 39

Help an adult bake or cook something. Write down briefly what you made…
