This term, the children at Whaley Thorns have been exploring their Geography unit, Our Local Park. As part of their learning, the class carried out a local study of the nearby park to identify its key features and think about ways it could be improved for everyone in the community.
During their visit, the children worked hard to spot and describe both the human and physical features of the park. They also completed observational drawings, shared their ideas about what they liked best, and discussed thoughtful suggestions for how the park could be made even better.
The pupils represented Whaley Thorns brilliantly, they were sensible, polite, and showed great awareness while walking safely across busy roads. It was a day full of learning, teamwork, and fun. Of course, there was time for a well-earned play on the park too!
