Music

All children and young people have the right to take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities under Article 31 of the UN Convention on Rights of a Child (UNCRC)
Music at Stubbin Wood

The aim of our music curriculum:

  • enable our pupils to express themselves creatively enhancing their communication skills
  • experience a range of music across different genres, styles and traditions
  • learn skills & techniques in using their voices, creating and composing music
  • explore how music is created through its interrelated dimensions such as pitch, tempo, duration
  • learn about great musicians and composers
  • have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument
  • have the opportunity to perform to an audience

We currently work with Open Orchestra enabling accessible music-making opportunities for our students. More pupils are learning an instrument, playing with others and performing live because of this wonderful collaboration.
